Telangana BJP MPs discuss strategy ahead of local body elections

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP MPs met on Thursday night at the Delhi residence of Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy to finalise party strategy.

During the meeting, leaders discussed ways to take the Central government’s welfare schemes to people more effectively. At the same time, they agreed to work together to strengthen the Telangana BJP under state president Ramachandra Rao.

The MPs decided to adopt a focused plan for the upcoming GHMC elections. They also discussed municipal polls, MPTC elections, and ZPTC elections. Therefore, they stressed stronger planning and better grassroots mobilisation across Telangana.

Telangana BJP meeting follows PM Modi’s warning

The meeting gained importance after Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed dissatisfaction with the party’s performance in the state. Earlier, he raised the issue during a meeting with BJP MPs.

Modi reportedly said the BJP had won even in Odisha. However, he questioned why the Telangana BJP failed to deliver similar results. He also remarked that the AIMIM appeared more active in the state.

Moreover, Modi observed that AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi’s social media team worked more aggressively. Therefore, he urged Telangana BJP leaders to adopt a more proactive approach and increase their online presence.

After media reports surfaced, Kishan Reddy expressed anger over internal leaks. Consequently, he warned Telangana BJP MPs against sharing meeting details.

Kishan Reddy said Modi had instructed leaders not to disclose internal discussions. However, he alleged that some individuals misrepresented the meeting while briefing the media.

He further warned that the party would act after identifying those responsible. In this backdrop, the meeting assumed added importance.
