Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP faced internal upheaval on Monday as Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh announced his resignation from the party, accusing the leadership of sidelining him during the State unit presidential election.
Raja Singh, who came to the party’s State office after a long gap, declared that he was quitting over what he called a biased process that handed the State president’s post to N. Ramchandra Rao. He alleged that when he tried to file his nomination, he and his supporters were threatened, and he was prevented from contesting.
He stated he had submitted his resignation letter to the State president, and three council members also stepped down in solidarity. Singh demanded that BJP State president Kishan Reddy request the Assembly Speaker to expel him from the House following his resignation.
Singh expressed frustration that despite his efforts to build the party in Telangana, there was resistance to letting it gain power. He pointed out that he and his family had been targeted by terrorists while working for the party, questioning what benefit he gained by staying on.
He described his resignation letter as a “love letter” carrying the pain of lakhs of workers. Singh insisted he would continue advocating for Hindutva even outside the BJP.
