Hyderabad: Task Force officials conducted a raid on adulterated khoya units in Tandur, arresting two persons for manufacturing and selling spurious food products that endangered public health.
According to Vikarabad district Superintendent of Police Sneha Mehra, police would act firmly against food adulteration. She warned that any attempt to compromise public health would invite strict legal action.
Accordingly, acting on her instructions, Task Force Inspector Md Anwar Pasha and his team carried out a surprise raid in the Tandur police station limits after receiving credible information.
During the operation, officials seized nearly 120 kg of adulterated khoya meant for sale.

Meanwhile, police arrested Prakash Vishnu from Rajasthan and Mohammed Salman of Chandrayangutta in Hyderabad for running the illegal operation. Subsequently, officials handed over the seized adulterated khoya along with the accused to Tandur police for further legal action.
Thereafter, Tandur police registered a case and launched an investigation. They are also probing the supply network and possible distribution points in the area.
Additionally, SP Sneha Mehra urged citizens to remain alert against food adulteration. She therefore asked the public to immediately inform police if they noticed the manufacture or sale of adulterated food items anywhere in the district.
