HYDERABAD: Irrigation Minister Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy visited the site of the Srisailam Left Canal accident near Domalapenta in Nagarkurnool district on Saturday. Accompanied by Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao, he held a review meeting with senior officials at the J.P. Guest House in Domalapenta.
The review meeting was attended by Irrigation Department Advisor Aditya Das Nath, IG Satyanarayana, Fire Department DG G.V. Narayana Rao, the Nagarkurnool District Collector, and representatives of the agency handling SLBC project works.
Both ministers expressed shock over the incident. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy inquired about the condition of the injured and directed officials to ensure they received the best medical treatment. He also instructed authorities to intensify rescue operations.
Following the ministers’ directives, officials expedited relief efforts. Rescue teams, including experts from Sinagreni, are working relentlessly to safely evacuate those believed to be trapped inside. Medical and health personnel ensured oxygen supply was readily available at the site.
Fire department personnel and dedicated rescue teams were deployed to assist in the operation.
Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupalli Krishna Rao remained at the site, closely monitoring the progress of the rescue and relief efforts.
