Hyderabad: A Srirangapuram temple theft was reported at the Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple complex in Wanaparthy district. Unidentified assailants allegedly stole Panchaloha idols of Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Anjaneya Swamy from the Ramulavari temple.
The theft took place at the Ram temple located within the Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple premises. Temple sources identified the missing idols as those of Rama, Lakshmana and Anjaneyaswamy.
Police received information about the missing idols and reached the temple complex. Following this, the district SP also visited the location and inspected the spot where the theft reportedly occurred.
The police have started investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officers are examining how the assailants entered the temple and carried out the theft.
