Srinivas Goud seeks action over infant death at Kummera Mallanna Jatara

Hyderabad: Former minister V. Srinivas Goud met Telangana DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy at the DGP office in Hyderabad and demanded immediate legal action in connection with the infant death reported during the Kummera Mallanna Swamy Jatara in Nagar Kurnool district.

He submitted a representation alleging that caste discrimination led to an attack on devotees who visited the temple at Kummera village. According to the complaint, a two-month-old infant died after assailants allegedly trampled the child during the incident.

Srinivas Goud urged the police to register a case against the Congress sarpanch and other leaders allegedly involved. He called for strict action under relevant legal provisions.

Infant death triggers demand for probe

The former minister stated that authorities must ensure justice in the infant death case and prevent recurrence of such incidents. He emphasised that caste-based discrimination and violence should not be tolerated.

Several leaders accompanied him during the meeting with the DGP. Those present included former BC Commission member Kishore Goud, CH Upender, former MPP Raju Goud, former Corporation Chairman Dudimetla Balaraju Yadav, Rajaka Sangham State Secretary Chakali Anand, Bharat Goud and Survi Yadaiah.

Police are yet to issue an official statement regarding the allegations.
