Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Saturday inaugurated the PJR Flyover at Gachibowli, stating that the State government is working relentlessly for the future generations of Telangana.
Speaking at the event, he said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration was taking systematic steps to transform Hyderabad into a global metropolis.
He highlighted that for the first time, the Congress government had earmarked ₹10,000 crore in the 2024–25 budget for urban development. As part of this push, the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) project with an outlay of ₹7,032 crore was launched to develop flyovers, underpasses, and widen roads.
Under H-CITI, officials plan to build 28 flyovers, 13 underpasses, four road-over-bridges (ROBs), three road-under-bridges (RUBs), and expand roads at 10 key junctions.
Sridhar Babu added that with traffic volumes surging, the State would deploy artificial intelligence technology to upgrade all traffic signals into Smart Signals.
He criticised the Union Government for failing to support Metro Rail Phase-II in Hyderabad.
“When we approached the Centre for support, there was no response, not even one rupee sanctioned,” he said, adding that Telangana would keep pressing the Centre to release funds for the Metro expansion.
