Hyderabad: Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu announced that the government plans to make Hyderabad India’s leading creativity hub, moving beyond its established IT identity.
He made this announcement at the IndiaJoy 2025 launch on Saturday at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre. The State government hosted the event in partnership with the Telangana VFX, Animation and Gaming Association (TVAGA).
“Hyderabad now represents a space where technology, storytelling and design intersect, and this blend will shape the city’s next phase of growth,” Sridhar Babu said.
To advance this vision, he invited animation studios, game developers, and digital entrepreneurs to collaborate with the government. He outlined proposed initiatives including a Creative Futures Fund, an Esports Academy, and support programmes for women creators and digital startups.

Importantly, the Minister said the government would act as both co-creator and enabler, not just a regulator. He pointed to key infrastructure projects—Image Tower, AI Innovation Hub, and the planned AI City as essential to Hyderabad’s rise in this sector.
The Image Tower, which features global-standard production and post-production facilities, is expected to open in 2026.
Moreover, Sridhar Babu encouraged young artists to build work rooted in empathy, diversity, and Indian identity. He affirmed that Hyderabad is now ready to lead in gaming, digital storytelling, visual effects, and software innovation.
The inaugural session included senior figures such as Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju, actor Teja Sajja, cinematographer Senthil Kumar, and TVAGA President Rajiv Chilaka.
