Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, also the in-charge Minister for the united Ranga Reddy district, directed officials to carry out flood relief and rehabilitation measures on a war footing in areas hit by heavy rain.

On Thursday, the minister held a comprehensive review via phone with district collectors, senior police officials, and representatives from the Water Board, Roads and Buildings, Electricity, and Municipal departments. He asked them to map all low-lying colonies and flood-prone villages and implement preventive measures to avoid repeat incidents.

Immediate focus on road, crop damage

Sridhar Babu emphasized quick repairs to damaged roads and culverts. He instructed departments to resolve power supply issues permanently in vulnerable areas. Officials were asked to assist flood-affected families and submit detailed damage assessments to the government.

He also told field officers to inspect agricultural areas and vegetable farms personally and report crop losses accurately.

Restore transport and coordinate relief

The minister stressed urgent road restoration, particularly where RTC services were disrupted. He directed officials to prioritize restoring public transport access.

He urged district collectors and municipal commissioners to ensure coordinated efforts across departments so that relief work proceeds without administrative delays.
