Hyderabad: Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Sunday flagged off the 8th Global Grace Cancer Run at Gachibowli Stadium. The event, hosted by the Grace Cancer Foundation, was held under the theme “Run for Grace, Screen for Life.”
Addressing participants, Sridhar Babu said cancer awareness is a shared social responsibility. He stated that the disease continues to affect millions worldwide and requires consistent public engagement. The Minister reaffirmed the Telangana government’s commitment to building a “Healthy Telangana” by ensuring accessible, quality healthcare.
He urged people to embrace a healthy lifestyle and reduce stress to prevent serious illnesses. He commended the Grace Cancer Foundation for its sustained outreach efforts and called on more voluntary groups to lead similar initiatives.
The Minister also assured full government support for public health campaigns. He reiterated that Telangana will continue collaborating with organisations focused on preventive care and health education.

Global Grace Cancer Run draws public, political participation
The event drew wide participation from leaders and the public alike. Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Vakiti Sridhar, CM’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Sports Authority Chairman Shiv Sena Reddy, and Grace Cancer Foundation founder Dr. Chinababu Sunkavalli joined the run. Fitness enthusiasts and volunteers also took part in large numbers, reflecting strong community support for cancer awareness.
