Special officers deployed to ensure smooth urea distribution in Telangana

Hyderabad: The Telangana government deployed special officers across the state to ensure smooth urea distribution during the ongoing Yasangi season, following difficulties reported in previous years.

Keeping past experiences in mind, the Agriculture Department placed the Yasangi season under close watch and sent senior officials to the field to prevent shortages and crowding at distribution centres.

The government deputed additional directors, Joint Directors of Agriculture (JDAs) and Deputy Directors of Agriculture (DDAs) to districts to personally oversee urea distribution. Senior officers from the Hyderabad head office also travelled to districts to review arrangements on the ground.

Officials remained available at the field level from Wednesday morning to manage distribution and avoid long queues. The department planned supply in a way that farmers would not have to wait for hours to procure urea.

Urea distribution monitored district-wise by senior officers

Agriculture Director Dr B Gopi allocated five districts to each senior officer to ensure close supervision. He directed officials to stay in districts and coordinate directly with local teams.

The Agriculture Department monitored distribution centrally from its headquarters, while special officers and district officials provided regular updates. At the same time, the government instructed district collectors to continuously monitor the situation and report any issues.

Officials said the state had sufficient urea stocks and urged farmers not to panic. They added that the special deployment aimed to ensure timely supply and prevent unnecessary anxiety during the peak agricultural season.
