SP Balasubrahmanyam statue to be installed at Ravindra Bharathi

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has accelerated plans to install a bronze statue of legendary playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam at the Ravindra Bharathi premises in Hyderabad.

The new statue will stand beside the existing monument of iconic singer Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao, under the supervision of the state’s Department of Culture. On Thursday, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and actor Subhalekha Sudhakar inspected the site and reviewed the progress.

Following the visit, Minister Krishna Rao held a meeting with statue committee members and senior officials from the culture department to finalise arrangements for the installation.

Poet Yakub, Bade Saheb, and several others also participated in the site inspection and review session.
