Son steals gold from father’s home to impress girlfriend

Hyderabad: A medical practitioner in Warangal was left stunned after discovering that his own son had stolen gold from their home to fund his extravagant dates with a girlfriend.

The incident came to light when Krishna, a registered medical practitioner, returned from a function in Hyderabad on the night of June 8 to find the lock on his house broken and gold ornaments worth over ₹5 lakh missing. He immediately lodged a complaint with the police.

The investigation took a shocking turn when police discovered that the thief was none other than Krishna’s own son, a final-year BBA student at a college in Warangal. The young man was apprehended during a routine vehicle check after he tried to flee from the police. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime.

According to the police, the son admitted he had stolen the gold to fund expensive outings and dates with his girlfriend. Further questioning revealed that he had previously tried to run a food court in Hyderabad, which ended in heavy losses. To pay off his debts and sustain his lifestyle, he exploited the opportunity when the house was empty and took the gold.

The revelation has left Krishna and the family deeply shocked, highlighting how family trust can be shattered by such acts. The police have registered a case and further investigations are underway.
