Hyderabad: Sixteen people sustained serious injuries when an RTC bus rammed a tractor near Renikunta village in Thimmapur mandal of Karimnagar district early Tuesday morning.
According to police, an RTC bus from Metpalli depot was heading towards Karimnagar from Hyderabad. As it neared Renikunta outskirts, it hit a tractor carrying paddy bags from behind. The impact injured the tractor driver and fifteen bus passengers.
Karimnagar bus accident leaves 16 injured
After receiving information, LMD police rushed to the spot. They shifted the injured to Karimnagar district hospital with the help of residents. Police then regulated traffic on the Rajiv Rahadari highway.
Preliminary reports suggested that the bus driver might have been drowsy at the time of the crash. The collision also scattered paddy bags across the road, disrupting traffic movement for some time.
