Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has issued summons to BRS MLC Naveen Rao. This is in connection with the ongoing phone tapping case that has rocked the Telugu states.
According to sources, SIT officials directed MLC Naveen Rao to appear for questioning at the Jubilee Hills police station at 11 am today. The MLC, who also heads a private news channel, is alleged to have coordinated with certain BRS leaders. Additionally, private individuals were involved to conduct illegal phone tapping operations.
Investigators are expected to question Rao about who was involved, what devices were used, and how the tapping was executed. The summons mark a significant escalation in the probe.
SIT sources indicated that other senior BRS leaders may also be called for questioning following Rao’s deposition. There is speculation that former minister Harish Rao and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) could also face notices in the coming days.
