SHE Teams refresher training held in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police conducted a SHE Teams refresher training programme to strengthen SHE Teams operations and improve response to cases involving women and girl children.

The Women Safety Wing organised the programme under the leadership of Dr Lavanya NJP, DCP. The training took place under the guidance of VC Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, and M Srinivas, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crimes and SIT.

Officials said the sessions focused on empathy and respect while handling complaints. Trainers asked SHE Teams personnel to follow clear legal steps and offer emotional support to victims to build public trust.

SHE Teams training focuses on skills and victim care

The programme covered key provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and special laws. Trainers also focused on victim care, communication skills, self-defence, and cybercrime awareness.

Personnel received hands-on training on technology tools and SHE Portal operations. The sessions also covered field practices, including decoy operations and red-handed cases. Legal experts, cybercrime specialists, counsellors, and retired police officers led the programme.

Police issued safety alerts during the training. They asked women to stay alert while travelling and report suspicious activity at once. Officers warned against fake online profiles and advised limiting personal details online.

The advisory urged people to secure accounts with strong passwords and two-factor authentication. Police asked victims of stalking, harassment, or abuse to seek help by dialling 100 or contacting the SHE Teams WhatsApp helpline at 9490616555.
