SHE Teams nab 264 during Nampally Exhibition

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police SHE Teams nabbed 264 offenders during the Nampally Exhibition held from January 1 to February 15, 2026, intensifying action against eve teasing and harassment.

The drives were conducted under the supervision of Dr. Lavanya NJP, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Women Safety Wing. Teams maintained continuous surveillance across the Nampally Exhibition grounds to prevent misconduct and protect women and children.

Of the 264 persons caught red-handed, 242 were majors and 22 were minors. Officials counselled 188 offenders in the presence of their family members and issued warnings before letting them off.

Police booked 56 petty cases for serious misconduct during the Nampally Exhibition. Courts convicted 52 offenders and imposed a fine of Rs. 1,050 each. In four cases, courts awarded two days’ imprisonment along with a Rs. 1,000 fine. The remaining cases are pending disposal.

Surveillance and awareness intensified at Nampally Exhibition

Alongside enforcement, SHE Teams conducted 385 awareness programmes at their stall at the Nampally Exhibition and at schools, colleges and public places. They also carried out 2,046 observation drives in crowded and sensitive areas.

Further, the teams organised 414 audio-visual vehicle awareness programmes, reaching thousands of citizens at the Nampally Exhibition and across Hyderabad.

SHE Teams cautioned citizens against fake online profiles and advised them to verify identities before engaging on social media. They urged the public to avoid sharing excessive personal information and to secure accounts with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.

Officials asked victims of stalking, threats or harassment to report incidents without delay. They assured confidentiality, prompt action and legal support.
