Hyderabad: The Moghalpura police identified the second victim of the Shahalibanda fire as Khilwat resident and realtor Mir Sajjad Ali. They said he died when a large shutter piece, thrown out by explosions inside Gomathi Electronics, struck him as he passed on his scooter.

Police initially could not establish his identity and kept the body at the Osmania General Hospital mortuary. Meanwhile, Sajjad’s relatives filed a missing person complaint at Hussainialam police station on Tuesday. As a result, the police issued a lookout notice seeking public help to identify the deceased.
Relatives later visited the Moghalpura police station after noticing the notice and recognised Sajjad’s wallet and a few belongings. Officials then took them to Osmania General Hospital, where they confirmed the body as Sajjad’s. The police handed over the remains to the family.
Family members said Sajjad had dinner at home and left for Aliabad on some work. They said he suffered fatal injuries when the compressor exploded and caused a fire at Gomathi Electronics on Shahalibanda Road.
So far, two people, including store owner Shivakumar Bansal, have died in the incident. Five others are receiving treatment.
