Hyderabad: Information and Public Relations Special Commissioner C.H. Priyanka directed District Public Relations Officers to set up district accreditation committees within one week.
She issued the instruction during a training programme held on Friday at the Telangana Media Academy auditorium in Nampally. The session focused on procedures for issuing accreditation cards.
Addressing DPRs and field-level staff, Priyanka asked officials to study GO Nos. 252 and 103 thoroughly. She instructed them to coordinate with District Collectors and constitute district accreditation committees with representatives from local print and electronic media within seven days.
She stressed clarity in handling registration of applications, scrutiny of documents and preparation of reports. Officials must also understand approval lists, allotment of registration numbers and downloading of accreditation cards.
Further, she directed officers to coordinate with the Media Relations Wing at the State headquarters if online or procedural issues arise. If technical problems occur, they must consult the technical team stationed at the headquarters.
She insisted that officers conduct the entire process transparently and without errors. Departments must avoid lapses and complete the exercise within the stipulated timeframe.
District accreditation committees to follow clear guidelines
Telangana Media Academy Chairman K. Srinivas Reddy urged DPRs to issue accreditation cards strictly in accordance with government guidelines. He said both State-level and district-level processes must adhere to the notified rules.
He also asked officials to bring field-level issues to the notice of the Special Commissioner without delay. Prompt coordination, he said, would help resolve bottlenecks.
DPRs and staff from all 33 districts attended the programme. During the session, officials explained online procedures through a PowerPoint presentation.
Media Relations officials D.S. Jagan and Yamini, along with website team manager Nanda and technician Sailu, clarified doubts raised by field staff.
