HYDERABAD: Two candidates from the Telangana Scheduled Castes Study Circle have been selected for the Civil Services through the latest UPSC examination, Commissioner N. Kshitij announced in a statement on Thursday.
According to the official release, Gokamalla Anjaneyulu scored 934 marks and Rantenki Sudhakar scored 949 marks, both securing ranks that make them eligible for the Indian Revenue Service (IRS).
In addition to the UPSC success, candidates from the SC Study Circle also excelled in the recently announced Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Group 1 results. Several students achieved top positions in the general state ranks, including B. Vanaja (38th rank), R. Marigold (56th), M. Ravi Teja (66th), Kishan Patel (72nd), E. Rakesh (78th), B. Shravan (84th), and D. Praveen (105th).
In the reserved category ranks, Study Circle students secured the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 10th ranks under the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, 2nd rank under the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, and 10th rank under the BC-D category. Overall, around 35 to 40 students from the Study Circle are expected to be selected for Group 1 services.
The successful candidates are likely to be appointed to prestigious posts such as Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, and Commercial Tax Officer, the Commissioner said.
He added that the Telangana SC Study Circle, located in Banjara Hills, provides a ten-month residential coaching programme every year for underprivileged SC, ST, and BC aspirants, selected through a state-level entrance exam. This exam is usually conducted in May or June.
Since its establishment in 1980, the institution has produced over 450 civil servants. Commissioner Kshitij expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka for their continued support in empowering marginalised communities through quality education and professional training.
