Sanathnagar TIMS to open by Ugadi, says Health Minister Raja Narasimha

Hyderabad: Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha on Tuesday said the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Sanathnagar, commonly known as Sanathnagar TIMS hospital, will open by Ugadi and start treating patients.

After inspecting the site, the Minister noted that the main building is almost ready, with only some electrical work left. Teams have already installed most equipment, including operation theatres, diagnostic labs, and a modern MRI machine.

“Our goal is better public healthcare, not publicity,” Raja Narasimha said. “The 1,000-bed hospital will offer full services by Ugadi.”

The hospital will act as a key centre for heart treatment and research. It will also offer organ transplant surgeries with high-tech operation theatres.

The Minister said the government had already filled over 10,000 healthcare posts in two years. It is now hiring another 7,000 staff. He promised there would be enough doctors, nurses, and support staff across all state hospitals.
