Sanathnagar ESI mishap: One worker dead, Health Minister orders probe

Hyderabad: Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha on Monday expressed grief over the construction accident at Sanathnagar ESI Hospital, which claimed one life and left four others seriously injured. The mishap occurred during renovation work in the hospital’s emergency ward.

The minister immediately spoke to senior Health Department officials over phone and directed them to ensure quality treatment for the injured. He also instructed Hyderabad DMHO Dr. Venkati to visit the hospital and oversee the situation.

Following orders, Dr. Venkati reached the hospital and reviewed the condition of the injured. Officials said the accident took place when centering material collapsed onto workers during ongoing reconstruction work inside the emergency ward building.

One labourer died on the spot, while four others sustained serious injuries.

Minister Rajanarasimha offered condolences to the deceased worker’s family and prayed for the soul’s peace. He assured that all possible support would be extended to the injured.
