Hyderabad: Parents protested against a Sainik School in Maruti Nagar, Champapet, after its management denied special classes to Bhavani deeksha students in Class 10. The students arrived at school wearing their sacred malas. However, the management stopped them from entering the classrooms.
School officials reportedly told the students to end their deeksha and wear their uniforms before attending classes. Consequently, the students missed the special sessions. Their parents expressed anger over the decision and questioned the management’s approach.
The parents said the school should respect religious beliefs and customs. They objected to the exclusion of their children from academic sessions because of their religious observance. They also raised concerns about the impact on their children’s studies.
Bhavani deeksha students denied entry, parents protest at school gate
Parents gathered outside the school gate to oppose the management’s decision. They expressed distress over the treatment of their children, who had worn sacred malas as part of their religious observance.
Furthermore, the parents accused the school of disregarding religious practices. They argued that students should not have to abandon their deeksha to attend special classes. They also criticised the management for making school uniform a condition for entry.
The protest created a tense atmosphere outside the school for some time. The dispute centred on the management’s refusal to admit the students while they continued observing Bhavani deeksha.
