Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Wednesday directed officials to prepare focused Budget Estimates for 2026–27, placing priority on RRR and HAM roads as key infrastructure drivers.
Reviewing last year’s allocations, work progress and fund releases at the Secretariat, he said the department played a decisive role in accelerating Telangana’s growth. Therefore, he instructed officials to adopt outcome-based planning and financial discipline while framing the new budget.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy called for prioritising major infrastructure projects, particularly the Regional Ring Road. He said the project aligned with the State’s long-term development roadmap. Referring to the “Rising Telangana 2047” vision under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, he stated that expanding the road network remained essential due to rising vehicular traffic and population growth.
He said the government planned to construct high-quality RRR and HAM roads across the State under the Hybrid Annuity Model. In addition, he asked officials to resolve existing bottlenecks through coordinated action.
The Minister emphasised transparency in fund sharing between the Centre and the State. He said financial coordination for ongoing and proposed works should remain clear and accountable.
On national highways, he announced that the 8-lane expansion of the Hyderabad–Vijayawada stretch of National Highway 65 would commence shortly. He added that he would urge Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to expedite the project. Once completed, he said, the project could reduce travel time between Hyderabad and Vijayawada to about two-and-a-half hours.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy also said he would meet Union Ministers to speed up centrally assisted projects in Telangana. Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj stated that the department would prepare structured and realistic proposals and ensure close coordination for timely execution.
