Hyderabad: A robbery accused escaped from police custody at Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad after requesting to use the toilet, triggering a search operation.
Police said the accused, identified as Sohail, had been arrested in a robbery case and was being shifted to Charlapalli Jail. As per procedure, he was taken to Gandhi Hospital for a mandatory medical examination.
Accused jumped from ventilator to escape custody
During the hospital visit, Sohail asked to use the toilet and slipped away by jumping through a ventilator. Police immediately registered another case and launched a manhunt. Officials confirmed that Sohail is also facing charges in multiple other criminal cases apart from robbery.
