Hyderabad: Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) on Friday announced the first list of candidates selected for admission to its six-year integrated programmes at Basar (Nirmal district) and Mahbubnagar campuses. The list was released by RGUKT Basar in-charge Vice Chancellor Gordhan.
For the 2025–26 academic year, the university received a total of 19,967 applications from across Telangana, of which 19,877 were found valid. Among these, 19,701 applicants were from local categories while 176 were non-local.
In the first phase, excluding special categories, 1,690 candidates were selected. Of these, 72 per cent are girls, with boys accounting for just 28 per cent. The data also showed 88 per cent of shortlisted candidates studied in government schools.
By district, Nizamabad had the highest number of selected candidates at 297, while Jayashankar Bhupalpally district saw just one student making the cut.
Counselling for the shortlisted candidates is scheduled at the RGUKT campuses on July 7, 8, and 9. Candidates ranked 1 to 564 must report on July 7, those ranked 565 to 1128 on July 8, and ranks 1129 to 1690 on July 9. Officials stressed that attendance with original certificates on the allotted date and time is mandatory, failing which admissions will be cancelled.
A waiting list will be issued for leftover seats after completion of the first phase of counselling. Students have been advised to check details of counselling dates, timings, and documents in advance to avoid missing their opportunity.
Out of the total applicants, 8,241 came from government schools, 3,985 from private schools, 7,075 from government residential schools, and 1,670 under the global category.
