CM Revanth reviews data centre incentives in Telangana

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed officials to undertake a comprehensive study of incentives offered by various states for data centre projects and ensure rational land allocation in Telangana.

The Chief Minister held a review at the Dr B R Ambedkar State Secretariat on proposals received for setting up data centres. He examined details of companies that had come forward and assessed their land and infrastructure requirements. During the meeting, he stressed the need for a structured policy on data centre incentives Telangana offers to investors.

He also sought details on land acquisition underway for data centres and related infrastructure in different regions. While reviewing the proposals, he instructed officials to maintain fairness and transparency in land allotment.

Data centre incentives Telangana linked to fair compensation

Revanth Reddy asked officials to adopt a liberal approach in fixing land compensation. He directed them to hold discussions with farmers and finalise compensation only after ensuring their satisfaction. According to him, companies investing thousands of crores spend only a small share on land compared to total project costs. Therefore, he said the government must balance data centre incentives Telangana provides with fair returns to landowners.

The Chief Minister added that timely provision of land and essential infrastructure would help companies complete projects quickly. He emphasised that proactive coordination among departments would accelerate investment inflows.

Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao attended the meeting. Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Ajit Reddy, IT Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar and Special Chief Secretary for Energy Navin Mittal also participated. Future City Development Authority Commissioner Shashank and other senior officials were present.
