Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses were currently under construction across Telangana, and another four lakh would be sanctioned over the next two and a half years.

Revanth Reddy made the announcement during a house-warming event for newly built Indiramma homes in Bendalapadu village, Chandrugonda mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem district. He was joined by Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Vakiti Srihari.
The Chief Minister handed over silk clothes to families who performed house-warming rituals. He also unveiled a pylon marking the official launch of the housing project.
Revanth interacts with beneficiaries
Interacting with the beneficiaries, Revanth asked, “Is everyone happy? Are you receiving fine rice and ration cards?” He said the smiles reminded him of the original Indiramma scheme introduced under former Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
Revanth criticised the BRS regime for neglecting housing during its ten-year rule. He argued that if the state had sanctioned two lakh houses annually, Telangana would now have 20 lakh homes. “KCR promised double-bedroom houses but failed to deliver even a fraction,” he said.
The Chief Minister pledged to cover every poor household in the next decade under the renewed Indiramma housing scheme. “We will even provide houses for your children when they get married,” he said.
