Hyderabad: Congress Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdhury reacted sharply to the KTR padayatra announcement, stepping up political criticism amid debate over foot marches.
KTR earlier announced plans to undertake a padayatra in 2027. In response, Renuka Chowdhury said such a move would help his health. However, she added that even multiple marches would not affect the Congress party.
At the same time, she intensified her attack on the BRS leadership. She alleged that KCR’s family misused power and resources over the past decade, further escalating the political exchange between Congress and BRS.

Meanwhile, Renuka Chowdhury raised the issue of Bhadrachalam temple lands. She said these lands fall within five panchayats merged with Andhra Pradesh. Therefore, she demanded that authorities re-integrate them into Telangana.
She also urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to take up the issue with the Centre and resolve it amicably.
Regarding the controversy over her “Kamaravati” remark in the Rajya Sabha, she offered clarification. She said she only referred to a statement earlier made by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. According to her, she did not coin the term herself.
