Rein Bazar police arrest six in premeditated murder case; prime suspect held

Hyderabad: Rein Bazar police on Wednesday arrested six accused in a brutal premeditated murder case, including rowdy sheeter Omer Bin Hamza Al Jabri, for the killing of Shaik Junaid Bin Mohammed Bharmos. The murder, which took place in Chotapool, Yakuthpura, stemmed from personal and real estate-related enmity.

Based on credible information, police apprehended the key accused, Omer Bin Hamza (A1), near Dabirpura Darwaza. They also arrested Ali Bin Hamza (A2), Faisal Bin Habeeb Mohammed (A3), Mohammed Maqsood Ali (A6), Syed Asghar Ali (A7), and Mohammed Taher (A8). All have been charged under IPC sections and the Arms Act in Cr. No. 192/2025.

Murder planned over property dispute, police say

According to investigators, the deceased, a 35-year-old worker at a rice shop in Yakuthpura, had ongoing disputes with A1 and A2 over real estate dealings. He was reportedly interfering in extortion attempts and spreading damaging information about the accused, causing tensions to escalate.

Police stated that the accused — including other absconding suspects — conspired to eliminate Junaid. On December 3, around 10:00 PM, several of the accused assembled at A1’s residence in Rahmath Nagar before heading to Chotapool. There, they confronted Junaid outside A6’s residence, where he was speaking with a property buyer named Farooq.

A1 and A2, armed with knives, attacked Junaid while others restrained him. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds and died on the spot.

Six arrested, others absconding

Among the 12 accused, the following six have been arrested:

  • A1: Omer Bin Hamza Al Jabri, 35, rowdy sheeter
  • A2: Ali Bin Hamza Al Jabri, 31, suspect sheeter
  • A3: Faisal Bin Habeeb Mohammed, 23
  • A6: Mohammed Maqsood Ali, 28
  • A7: Syed Asghar Ali, 20
  • A8: Mohammed Taher, 25

The remaining accused A4 Syed Raheem Ghori, A5 Malik Bin Javid Al Jabri, A9 Azar, A10 Zubair, A11 Riyan, and A12 Kulsum — are absconding.

Police seize knives, vehicles, phones

Officers recovered three knives used in the attack, an Ola electric bike and Suzuki Burgman scooter, and three mobile phones belonging to the accused.

The arrests were made under the supervision of Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS. The operation was led by Addl DCP Task Force A. Srinivasa Rao, Addl DCP South Zone Md Majeed, ACP Mirchowk G. Shyam Sunder, and Inspector CH Nethaji, with support from the Rein Bazar crime team.
