Rangareddy nominations process opens with strong turnout

Hyderabad: The Rangareddy nominations process opened on Thursday with a strong turnout. Officials received 145 sarpanch applications and 119 ward applications across the district.

To ensure smooth filing, authorities set up counters in Farooqnagar, Chowdarigudem, Keshampet, Kothur, Kondurg, Nandigam and Shamshabad. Nominations ran from 10.30 am to 5 pm. This phase covers 174 sarpanch seats and 1,530 ward seats. Moreover, nominations will close on the 29th. Scrutiny will occur on the 30th. Withdrawals will remain open until December 3. Polling will take place on December 11, and results will be announced that evening.

General Observer P. Prashanth Jeevan urged returning officers to check each paper with care. He toured Peddatupra, Peddatupra Tanda, Mucchintal and Madanapalle with District Collector Narayana Reddy and Additional Collector Srinivas. In addition, he asked staff to record details of people collecting forms. He also directed them to guide candidates through help desks at every centre.

Observer stresses accuracy in rangareddy nominations process

Officials followed Election Commission rules during inspections. Furthermore, the observer encouraged them to seek guidance whenever doubts arose. His team included the Shamshabad MPDO, tahsildars and several field officers. They monitored the process at each stop.

Meanwhile, the State Election Commission issued 30 symbols for sarpanch candidates. These included ring, scissors, bat, football, ladies’ purse, remote, toothpaste, blackboard, coconut farm, diamond, bucket, door handle, slippers, dustbin, biscuit, okra, sieve, stick, cot, plank, table, battery light, brush, batsman, winnow, flute, chain, balloon, stumps and bubble. Additionally, ward candidates received 20 approved symbols.
