Rajendra Nagar Dy. Commissioner caught accepting ₹2 lakh bribe by ACB

Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested K. Ravi Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Circle-11, Rajendra Nagar Municipality, GHMC, for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹2,00,000 from a hotelier.

According to ACB officials, Ravi Kumar had initially demanded ₹5,00,000 to prevent action against a hotel for alleged kitchen irregularities. The bribe was meant to ensure that the hotel’s reputation remained intact and that no official action would be taken following an inspection.

The transaction was caught red-handed by the ACB City Range-1 Unit. Chemical tests confirmed the presence of bribe money on both hands of the accused officer. The amount was recovered on the spot.

Ravi Kumar has been taken into custody and sent to judicial remand. ACB has confirmed that the case is under active investigation.
