Hyderabad: Rahul Gandhi will visit Telangana on Monday to lead a strategy session with District Congress Committee presidents and is expected to take key decisions on Rajya Sabha nominations from the State.
The senior AICC leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha will attend training sessions for DCC presidents in Vikarabad. The programme forms part of efforts to strengthen the Telangana Congress organisation.
Rahul Gandhi will arrive at Shamshabad Airport from Delhi by special flight at 9.20 am. He will then leave for Vikarabad by helicopter at 10.20 am and reach Haritha Hotel by 10.30 am.
From 10.30 am to 4.30 pm, he will hold discussions with DCC presidents and senior party leaders. During the sessions, he will offer guidance and issue directions on organisational matters.

Apart from the training programme, the Rahul Gandhi Telangana visit will address key political issues in the State. He is expected to take decisions on candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha vacancies from Telangana.
Party sources indicated that social equations and loyalty to the party may influence the selection process. The selection of nominees is likely to conclude on Monday.
Reports also suggested that Rahul Gandhi will brief DCC presidents on plans to strengthen the party. He is expected to outline future activities through a PowerPoint presentation.

Meanwhile, police stepped up security arrangements around the Haritha Hotel in Vikarabad ahead of the Rahul Gandhi Telangana visit. Authorities deployed additional personnel to ensure smooth conduct of the programme.
Congress leaders have arranged an elaborate reception for him. Party functionaries said the visit is expected to energise cadres across Telangana, especially in the context of the Rajya Sabha nominations.
Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to return to Shamshabad at 5 pm and depart for Delhi later in the evening.
