Rahul Gandhi calls for organisational focus at PAC meeting

Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and AICC leader Rahul Gandhi concluded his meeting with PAC members in Vikarabad and called on leaders to focus on strengthening the party structure.

During the interaction, he spoke on national developments and urged cadres to prepare for a political battle. He alleged that the misdeeds of Prime Minister Narendra Modi were surfacing and, therefore, asked leaders to take those issues to the people. Moreover, he cautioned that India must avoid situations similar to Iran.

He expressed concern that the Centre’s policies could push the country towards instability. In addition, he flagged risks in the proposed Indo-American trade deal.

At the State level, he said the party and government were working in coordination in Telangana. Furthermore, he advised leaders to prioritise social issues while strengthening grassroots structures.

Senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao urged him to introduce a private member’s bill in Parliament to increase BC reservations. Subsequently, Rahul Gandhi agreed to the proposal.

PAC members from both Telugu States attended the meeting. Along with Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, K. C. Venugopal, Meenakshi Natarajan, Mahesh Kumar Goud and Y. S. Sharmila were present.

After the meeting, he, Revanth Reddy and K. C. Venugopal left SAP Arts and Science College and proceeded to Ananthagiri Haritha Resorts to attend the concluding session of DCC presidents’ training.
