Purandeshwari criticises Revanth Reddy

KARIMNAGAR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Andhra Pradesh President and Member of Parliament Daggubati Purandeshwari has strongly criticised Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for his recent remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing a gathering in Karimnagar on Friday during the MLC election campaign, she questioned Reddy’s statement referring to Modi as “legally converted,” demanding clarity on its meaning and intent. She asserted that such comments insult the Backward Classes (BC) community.

Purandeshwari also reiterated the BJP’s firm stance against religion-based reservations, urging the public to reassess the inclusion of Muslims in the BC category. She accused the Congress government of misleading the people with its six guarantees, alleging that none of them had been implemented. Expressing confidence in BJP’s growth in Telangana, she claimed that the party would soon gain power in the state.

Addressing fiscal concerns, Purandeshwari defended the Union Budget, stating that all states have been allocated equal shares. On the Krishna water dispute, she clarified that the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the respective state governments and the Krishna Tribunal, which is responsible for resolving such issues.

She also criticised the Telangana government’s refusal to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme, arguing that this decision denies healthcare benefits to the poor and elderly. She accused the Congress-led government of betraying these vulnerable groups.
