Hyderabad: Police busted a prostitution racket at a guest house in the Vanasthalipuram police station limits and arrested one person during a raid at Kammaguda.
According to police, a raid took place at Harshitha Guest House after they received credible information about illegal activities. The operation led to the rescue of two women, who police later shifted to a rescue home.
The organiser managed to escape during the raid. Police identified the rescued women as natives of Delhi and another state.
Prostitution racket operated from guest house, police say
Police said the Vanasthalipuram team secured search permission and conducted the raid on Wednesday. During the inspection, officers found two women and a receptionist inside the guest house.
Police registered a case and began an investigation. CI Mahesh Goud said the team arrested the receptionist, Shaik Khaleel (27), son of Ismail and a native of Machilipatnam. Police produced him before a court and sent him to remand.
Officers shifted the two women to a rescue home for care and counselling. Meanwhile, the organiser, Aditya Choudary, remained absconding.
Police warned that they would take strict action against anyone involved in illegal activities. They said teams were working to trace and arrest the absconding organiser.
