Hyderabad: The pre-monsoon sanitation special drive was formally launched with much fanfare at the Deputy Mayor’s camp office in Tarnaka on Wednesday.
The event was inaugurated by Greater Hyderabad Deputy Mayor Mrs. Mote Srilatha Shobhan Reddy and TTUC State President Mr. Mothe Shoban Reddy, who flagged off the sanitation vehicles, marking the official start of the drive.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Mayor stressed the importance of sanitation ahead of the monsoon season to safeguard public health. “Prevention of water stagnation and mosquito breeding is critical. This special drive is aimed at addressing these issues to ensure a healthier environment for citizens during the rains,” she said.
Echoing similar sentiments, TTUC State President Mothe Shoban Reddy called on the public to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness. “Every citizen has a role to play in keeping their surroundings clean. Preventing water stagnation must be a collective responsibility,” he urged.
The programme witnessed active participation from local public representatives, GHMC officials including Secunderabad Circle’s Venkatesh Neel, AE Venu, and a large number of citizens who turned up to support the initiative.
