Hyderabad: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar distributed clay pots to Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukender Reddy, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka in the Assembly premises on the occasion of Ugadi.
Ponnam Prabhakar handed over Ugadi kits as part of a campaign promoting traditional practices and eco-friendly living. The initiative carried the message of using clay pots to protect health and support traditional occupations.
The kits included clay utensils such as pots, glasses, jugs and bowls. In addition, they contained Ugadi essentials like mango pieces, neem flowers, jaggery, tamarind and spices.

Leaders extended Ugadi greetings to people on the occasion of Sri Parabhava Nama Samvatsara. They urged citizens to adopt clay utensils to protect the environment and maintain health.
They said clay pot usage forms part of long-standing cultural traditions. At the same time, they stressed that promoting such practices would help sustain traditional livelihoods.
Ponnam Prabhakar said festivals offer an opportunity to revive eco-friendly habits. He asked people to use clay products and support artisan communities.
Leaders also highlighted that clay utensils help maintain hygiene and reduce health risks. They called upon citizens to celebrate Ugadi while preserving tradition and protecting nature.
