Police seize ₹1.3 crore ganja at Kamkole toll plaza in Sangareddy

Hyderabad: Police in Sangareddy district seized 260 kg of ganja worth ₹1.3 crore during a vehicle check at Kamkole toll plaza in Munipalli mandal. Acting on credible intelligence, Munipalli Sub-Inspector Rajesh Naik led the operation after receiving information that smugglers were transporting the contraband from Odisha to Maharashtra.

During the inspection, officers found the ganja packed in several bags inside two vehicles. When police tried to stop them, the accused attempted to escape. However, the team chased and caught four men on the spot.

Police arrest four, seize vehicles and ganja

Investigators said the smugglers planned to deliver the consignment to Maharashtra. The seized ganja carries an estimated market value of ₹1.3 crore. Police also took the two vehicles involved in the operation into custody.

Officers registered a case under the NDPS Act and began questioning the accused to trace the supply network. SI Rajesh Naik said the team would soon identify the masterminds behind the smuggling route.
