Hyderabad: Peace Foundation Hyderabad was launched on Saturday to mobilise financial assistance for poor patients who struggle to afford treatment during medical emergencies.
The initiative was jointly launched at Western Hospitals in Lakdi-ka-Pul by Telangana government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Minority Welfare Minister Md Azharuddin, former Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali, Telangana State Waqf Board Chairman Syed Azmatullah Hussaini and Siasat Daily Editor Amer Ali Khan.
Several senior doctors and specialists associated with Western Hospitals attended the event. They included radiologist Dr M A Mateen Siddiqui, gastroenterologist Dr Syed Akbar Hassan and neurosurgeon Dr Mustafa Faisal. Medical professionals said Peace Foundation Hyderabad would function as a transparent platform to assist deserving patients during emergencies.
The organisers said the foundation aimed to mobilise donations and contributions from doctors, hospitals and philanthropists to ensure that urgent treatment is not delayed due to financial constraints.
Peace Foundation Hyderabad aims to support emergency treatment
Mohammed Ali Shabbir said launching Peace Foundation Hyderabad during the holy month of Ramzan was a meaningful initiative to support economically weaker patients.
He said many families arrive at hospitals during emergencies without insurance or financial resources. In such situations, arranging funds for immediate treatment, medicines and diagnostic tests becomes extremely difficult.
Shabbir Ali said medical emergencies occur without warning. Therefore, poor families often struggle to mobilise funds quickly.
According to him, Peace Foundation Hyderabad was created to address this gap by supporting patients who cannot afford urgent treatment. He said doctors and hospitals involved in the initiative had agreed to work collectively to help deserving patients receive assistance from the foundation.
The aim, he said, was to ensure that life-saving treatment does not get delayed because of lack of money.
Shabbir Ali also noted that awareness of health insurance remained low among many families. As a result, communities often face severe financial pressure during sudden illnesses.
He added that the foundation would help patients receive quality healthcare at significantly lower costs compared with large corporate hospitals.
Announcing his support, Shabbir Ali donated ₹5 lakh to Peace Foundation Hyderabad and assured continued assistance. He also said the Telangana government would cooperate with initiatives aimed at helping poor patients.

Leaders extend support to Peace Foundation Hyderabad
Minority Welfare Minister Md Azharuddin welcomed the initiative and congratulated the organisers for launching the foundation.
He said doctors play a crucial role in society because they directly safeguard people’s health and lives. According to him, rising healthcare costs have become a major burden for many families.
Therefore, he said initiatives like Peace Foundation Hyderabad were extremely valuable.
Azharuddin also advised doctors to guide patients about preventive healthcare and healthy dietary habits during consultations. Many health problems arise from improper eating patterns and lack of awareness, he said.
The Minister urged patients to follow medical advice rather than relying on misleading information on the internet.
He assured full support to Peace Foundation Hyderabad and said the organisers could approach him and other leaders whenever government assistance was required.
He also appealed to the media to publicise the initiative widely so that more people become aware of the services offered by the foundation.
Former Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali said the initiative would help address healthcare challenges faced by economically weaker communities.
He said patients with financial resources usually receive immediate treatment. However, poor families often face delays because they cannot arrange advance payments.
Mahmood Ali said such delays can seriously affect a patient’s health. Mahmood Ali added that hospital expenses had become extremely high for many families.
He urged philanthropists and financially well-placed individuals to support Peace Foundation Hyderabad so that more patients can receive timely treatment.
He also suggested that government schemes such as Aarogyasri should be extended to hospitals serving poor patients.
Doctors say Peace Foundation Hyderabad will ensure timely care
Siasat Daily Editor and former MLC Amer Ali Khan congratulated the organisers and said the foundation would help many poor patients access medical treatment.
He said changing lifestyles and unhealthy diets were responsible for several health problems. Referring to Islamic teachings, he said moderation in food and disciplined routines were important for preventing diseases.
Amer Ali Khan appreciated Western Hospitals for providing corporate-level healthcare while maintaining affordability.
He donated ₹1 lakh to Peace Foundation Hyderabad and assured publicity support through Siasat Daily to increase awareness.
Doctors attending the event explained the objective behind establishing the foundation. Among those present were Dr Syed Akbar Hassan, Dr Mustafa Faisal, Dr M A Mateen Siddiqui, Dr Safiullah, Dr Hammad Osama, Dr Sameer, Dr Jalaal, Dr Shadan Qadri and Dr Syed Shah Ali Hussaini.
They said Peace Foundation Hyderabad would provide immediate financial assistance to patients unable to arrange funds during medical emergencies.
Doctors noted that certain illnesses, particularly neurological disorders, require prolonged treatment and hospitalisation. Such conditions often place a heavy financial burden on families.
They said the foundation would function as a transparent platform where doctors, hospitals and philanthropists could contribute funds.
According to them, patients without insurance often lose critical time because hospitals require advance deposits before treatment begins. Peace Foundation Hyderabad aims to ensure that deserving patients receive timely treatment without delay.
