Panjagutta servant theft case solved in 24 hours

Hyderabad: Panjagutta police solved the Panjagutta servant theft case within 24 hours, arresting a 25-year-old employee and recovering 1 kilogram of stolen gold worth Rs 1.65 crore.

Police registered the case on February 15, 2026, at Panjagutta Police Station after receiving a complaint from Sri Sebastian. He reported that unidentified persons had stolen 1 kilogram (1000 grams) of gold biscuits from the Joyalukkas showroom within Panjagutta limits.

Investigators identified the accused as Karampudi Gopalakrishna, son of Late Ramarao, aged 25 years. He resided at H. No. 12-665, Road No. 3, Mahanadu, Tadepalli, Guntur district.

Immediately after receiving the complaint, officers formed special teams to trace the accused. Subsequently, the teams analysed CCTV footage, examined technical evidence and gathered intelligence inputs.

Through sustained investigation, police tracked and apprehended the accused within 24 hours of the complaint. They recovered the entire stolen property directly from his possession.

Officers seized 10 gold biscuits weighing 100 grams each, totalling 1 kilogram. They valued the recovered gold at Rs 1,65,00,000. Additionally, the team seized a Vivo mobile phone and a Bajaj Platina motorcycle from him.

The ACP, Panjagutta, supervised the investigation. Inspector M. Ramakrishna led the operation, while Detective Inspector S. Nagaraju and Detective Sub-Inspector A. Suresh assisted him along with the station staff.

Senior officers appreciated the team for detecting the case swiftly and protecting public property.

Meanwhile, police advised jewellery shop owners and managements to strengthen security systems. They recommended installing CCTV cameras inside and outside premises, including approach roads and cellar parking areas with motion sensors.

Furthermore, officers urged managements to vet security personnel carefully and monitor their duties strictly. They also advised thorough checks of visitors and employees during entry and exit.

In addition, authorities stressed the importance of physical safeguards such as locks and shutters. They asked establishments to closely monitor employee activities to prevent similar incidents.
