Hyderabad: Teaching aspirants across the Telugu states are staring down yet another challenge: overlapping exam schedules that could derail their recruitment hopes. Telangana’s TET is set for June 18–30, while Andhra Pradesh’s DSC is slated for June 6–30 dates that leave many candidates in a bind.
Around 7,000 teaching hopefuls from Telangana have applied for the AP DSC exam, hoping to secure posts under the 20 percent non-local quota. But with some dates overlapping, they’re now left making tough choices—risking the loss of one opportunity to chase the other. Some have been allotted test centres in Hyderabad, while others have to head to Andhra Pradesh to take the DSC.
The clash is especially problematic on June 20, when both the Telangana TET Paper-1 and the AP DSC test for SGT posts are scheduled. Hundreds of candidates are stuck in the middle, weighing their options with pressure building by the day.
Exasperated, many are now calling on both state governments to step in and ensure that essential exams don’t collide. Some argue that since the TET is held twice a year, it would be fairer to adjust its dates instead of making them miss the rare opportunity that the DSC offers. Others have already resigned themselves to skipping the TET this time around.
For teaching job-seekers who’ve been waiting years for these openings, the timing couldn’t be worse. And with no official word on any adjustments yet, many are holding out hope that the authorities will make a last-minute change so they don’t have to walk away from one of the biggest opportunities in their careers.
