Hyderabad: A 20-year-old Odisha girl, who married her long-time friend against her family’s wishes, was kidnapped by her relatives in Keesara on Wednesday.
The woman had lived with her husband, Praveen, at Narsampalle village for four months. On Wednesday, her relatives stormed into his house, threw chilli powder on him and his family, and dragged her into a car. They also beat the family with sticks when they resisted.

The assault injured Praveen and his relatives. Doctors admitted them to a local hospital. Meanwhile, CCTV cameras installed in the house captured the entire incident. Praveen complained. Consequently, Keesara police registered a case and formed teams to trace the woman.
