HYDERABAD: In a major boost to India’s AI infrastructure ambitions, NTT DATA, a global leader in digital transformation and IT services, has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana and Neysa Networks to set up an Artificial Intelligence Data Center Cluster in Hyderabad with a planned investment of ₹10,500 crore.
The MoU was signed on Friday during a high-level investment meeting in Tokyo, in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Senior executives from NTT DATA and Neysa Networks, including Ken Katsuyama, Tadaoki Nishimura, Alok Bajpai, and Sharad Sanghi, were present for the signing ceremony.
Building India’s Largest AI Compute Infrastructure
The Hyderabad facility will feature a 400 MW data centre cluster, set to house the nation’s most advanced AI supercomputing infrastructure with 25,000 GPUs. Designed to be sovereign, scalable, and sustainable, the facility will cater to public sector and enterprise AI workloads, furthering Telangana’s vision of becoming India’s AI capital.
This collaboration brings together NTT DATA’s global expertise in data centre infrastructure and Neysa’s AI-first cloud platform to co-develop AI-centric solutions and establish a robust innovation ecosystem rooted in Telangana.
Driving Responsible and Sustainable AI Growth
The AI cluster will be powered by a combination of grid and renewable energy sources totalling up to 500 MW. The facility will implement advanced technologies such as liquid immersion cooling and will operate according to the highest environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards.
It will also serve as a hub for talent development in artificial intelligence through academic collaborations in Telangana and contribute to the state’s digital public infrastructure initiatives.
Welcoming the landmark investment, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said, “Telangana offers policy stability, strategic location advantage, reliable and high-quality electric power, skilled talent, and quick clearances through our single-window system to foster critical AI infrastructure. This major announcement by NTT follows recent investments by AWS, STT, Tillman Holdings, and CtrlS, and reinforces Hyderabad’s standing as India’s top data centre destination.”
The Chief Minister added, “We welcome NTT DATA as it begins a long-term partnership to power the next generation of AI and digital services from Hyderabad. On behalf of the people of Telangana – Arigatō Gozaimasu. Or in my Telugu language, Dhanayavadalu.”
