Hyderabad: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) clarified that no snake bite darshan queue incident occurred at Tirumala Temple and dismissed reports suggesting otherwise.
Officials said a woman devotee from Warangal district felt a sudden touch on her leg on Sunday night near the R.B. Centre parking area close to the SV Museum. The couple, Sarath Babu and Mounika, had arrived for darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy.
According to TTD, Mounika stepped into a dimly lit area to apply turmeric to her feet. She then panicked after sensing movement near her leg. Her husband checked the spot and noticed a small snake. Immediately, security personnel responded and shifted her to Aswini Hospital in Tirumala.
Doctors conducted a thorough examination and confirmed that there was no snake bite darshan queue case. They found no evidence of any bite marks or envenomation.
Snake bite darshan queue rumours dismissed by TTD
TTD reiterated that the incident did not occur inside the darshan queue line. Officials said the scare happened near the parking area and not within the temple’s regulated queue system. Therefore, they urged devotees not to spread unverified information.
On Monday morning, the couple safely completed darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy. The temple body appealed to pilgrims to follow designated routes and avoid venturing into restricted forest zones around Tirumala.
TTD emphasised that strict adherence to safety guidelines will help prevent unnecessary panic and ensure smooth darshan arrangements.
