Nizamabad: A tragic road accident in Nizamabad district claimed the lives of two sisters who were returning home after appearing for the EAPCET examination in Hyderabad. The incident occurred on Friday, May 2, at the Thorlakonda X-road in Jakranpalli mandal.
The deceased, Ashwini and Manjula, hailed from Nirmal district and had travelled to Hyderabad for the entrance exam. While returning home by car, their vehicle lost control and crashed into a culvert near Thorlakonda.
Both young women sustained severe injuries in the collision. Locals who witnessed the accident immediately tried to help and rushed them to a nearby hospital. However, the sisters succumbed to their injuries on the way and were declared dead before arrival.
Police arrived swiftly at the scene, launched a preliminary investigation, and shifted the bodies to the government hospital in Armoor for post-mortem examination. An inquiry into the cause of the crash is underway, with officers examining whether speeding, fatigue, or other factors were involved.
The sudden death of the two young women, who had just completed their EAPCET exam hours earlier, has devastated their family and community. Parents and relatives broke down in grief as news of the tragedy spread.
