Nizamabad: A devastating episode unfolded in Telangana’s Nizamabad district, where a man attempted to end his life after the sudden death of his pregnant wife in a road accident. The incident has left the local community reeling.
The man, Sunil, a resident of Bachkunda village, is currently undergoing treatment after allegedly consuming acid in the hours following his wife’s death. Doctors say his condition remains extremely serious.
Jyothi, who was seven months pregnant, had been travelling with her husband on a two-wheeler when she reportedly fell and sustained fatal injuries. She was taken to a hospital but died during treatment. The couple had been married a little over a year.
Unable to bear the loss, Sunil is believed to have attempted suicide shortly after receiving the news. He was rushed to a local facility by family members and bystanders.
Police have taken up a case and are piecing together the chain of events. While the cause of the accident is still under review, the emotional fallout has already rippled through the area, with neighbours and relatives left stunned by the suddenness and scale of the tragedy.
