Hyderabad: Amid unrelenting summer heat across Telangana, two men from Nizamabad district succumbed to heatstroke in separate incidents reported from Navipet and Nizamsagar mandals on Friday.
In the first case, Bangaru Sailu, 58, a resident of Mokanpalli village in Navipet mandal, collapsed after a day of begging under the blazing sun in Nizamabad town. He began experiencing severe vomiting and diarrhoea and was rushed by relatives to the district government hospital. Despite receiving medical treatment, he passed away early Saturday morning. Sailu, who had been supporting his family through street begging, is survived by four daughters.
In the second incident, 56-year-old Bod Narla of Dhoopsingh Tanda in Mohammadhagar mandal, also died from suspected heatstroke. Narla had worked on a government employment scheme project three days prior and had subsequently travelled to Yellareddy on personal work. Upon returning home, he fell seriously ill with similar symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea. He was first taken to a hospital in Banswada and later shifted to the district government hospital in Nizamabad, where he died during treatment. He is survived by his wife Shantabai, a son, and a daughter.
Local sources confirmed that both deaths were attributed to extreme heat exposure, as rural areas continue to reel under high temperatures with minimal access to cooling or medical resources. Health officials have urged the public to avoid direct sunlight during peak hours and stay hydrated, especially vulnerable populations like the elderly and daily wage workers.
