Hyderabad: Cadets from the 1 Telangana EME NCC Unit, Secunderabad Group, donated 178 units of blood in a special camp held at Government Polytechnic College, Masab Tank, as part of the Combined Annual Training Camp–XIII (IUC–RDC). The initiative marked National Voluntary Blood Donation Day and was organized in collaboration with Lions Club Hyderabad – Elite Cosmos.
Cadets turned out in large numbers, demonstrating enthusiasm and a strong spirit of service. Each unit of blood donated has the potential to save up to three lives, making this effort both meaningful and impactful.
Spreading awareness and building community values
Beyond collecting blood, the camp served as a platform to raise awareness about the critical need for voluntary blood donation. Cadets gained valuable insights into how their contribution could help patients in need during emergencies or surgeries.
NCC officers emphasized that this initiative is part of a broader mission to encourage cadets to participate in community service, including health drives and environmental campaigns. “This experience builds a sense of responsibility and compassion among our cadets,” an officer said.
Commitment to ongoing service
The NCC Unit has pledged to continue similar initiatives in the future, reinforcing its role in community engagement. The success of this event reflects the unit’s dedication to national service through youth empowerment.
