On Nayani Narasimha Reddy’s birth anniversary, BRS MLC Sravan recalls a fearless comrade of Telangana movement

Hyderabad: Former Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy was remembered on his birth anniversary with an emotional tribute from BRS MLC Dr Dasoju Sravan, who described him as an iron-willed, selfless leader who lived and died for the people.

In a message posted online, Sravan called Nayani a “veera Hanuman” of the Telangana statehood movement—one who stood by KCR like a rock during every key moment of the agitation.

Sravan recalled how Nayani played an unforgettable role in the Telangana movement under the leadership of KCR, and how his work as a trade union leader helped rally labourers and daily wage workers across Hyderabad.

“He wasn’t after posts. He gave up his ministerial post when the cause demanded it. His life was about people, not power,” Sravan wrote.

He added that both he and Nayani were handpicked by KCR to represent BRS in the Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) steering committee. That, he said, gave him a rare chance to work closely with Nayani from the start of KCR’s fast to every critical phase of the final leg of the Telangana struggle.

Nayani’s post-statehood role also drew praise. Sravan recalled his tenure as the first Home Minister of Telangana, where he helped push critical reforms to align the police with public interest.

His legacy, Sravan said, will continue to inspire generations—not just for his political work, but for the humility, sacrifice, and deep commitment he showed throughout his life.

“He showed us how to lead without seeking anything in return. Every BRS worker, every leader, every public representative should take inspiration from Nayani’s life,” Sravan said.

Closing his message with a vow to carry forward Nayani’s ideals, Sravan urged people to treat his vision as a guiding compass.
